Printer troubleshooting
What to check when tickets aren't printing.
A network printer shows Offline
- Check it's switched on, has paper, and the lid is shut.
- Check the network cable, or that it's still on your Wi-Fi. Printing a settings sheet (hold Feed while switching on) shows whether it has an IP address.
- If you've changed your broadband router, the printer may need its network settings again.
- Still offline? Press Show setup again on the Printers page and enter the new address in the printer.
It's online but nothing prints
- Make sure Print every new order is ticked for that printer.
- Press Test print. If the test prints, new orders will too.
- Look under the printer's name for a recent problem, such as cover open or paper out. Orders wait in the queue and print once it's fixed (up to 2 hours later).
USB and Zebra printers
- The kitchen screen must be open in Chrome on the PC with the printer, with the right printer chosen and auto-print ticked.
- A red message on the kitchen screen tells you if a ticket couldn't be printed. Fix the printer and press Print on the order.
