Connecting a Star network printer

Set up CloudPRNT so your Star prints orders automatically.

  1. 1Plug the printer into your router with a network cable (or connect it to Wi-Fi) and switch it on.
  2. 2In Direct Dine go to Printers and press Add a Star. Give it a name and choose your paper width (choose 76mm impact for an SP700 kitchen printer). Copy the printer address.
  3. 3Find the printer's IP address: hold the Feed button while switching it on to print a settings sheet.
  4. 4On a computer on the same Wi-Fi, type that IP address into a web browser and sign in. Star printers usually use root / public until you change it.
  5. 5Open CloudPRNT, turn it on, paste the printer address into Server URL and set the polling time to 5 seconds.
  6. 6Save, then press Reset or switch the printer off and on.
  7. 7Back in Printers, it shows Online within a few seconds. Press Test print.

If CloudPRNT isn't in the menu, update the firmware with Star's Quick Setup Utility app (iPhone, Android or Windows).
